Yes, it's true! I have a few different brow product favorites and this 99 cent pencil is one of them! I wanted to share this because it does not always take the 20 dollar eyebrow pencil, powder or gel to reach brow heaven. Honestly this 99 cent pencil is the only brow Pencil I've owned for a long time. I bought this pencil while checking out at Ulta, it was on the counter as a holiday special. Right now I believe the pencil I have is no longer available due to it being Holiday but I have found their year round alternative for only 1.97$, This product is still dirt cheap and looks WAY more sophisticated than the one I bought for .99 cents so check it out! I will post the link below.
I bought this pencil to see how I liked using it versus my normal routine and the results shocked me. I have never used one prior so when I saw that cheap cheap offer I had to snatch up the opportunity. Often makeup is about trying new things. Don't ever get too caught up in your own 'safe/proven' methods. I love to constantly improve and learn different ways to glam. If I didn't I would still be looking a hot mess like I did 5 years ago. (Literally, Hot Mess as Facebook 'Memories' just LOVES to remind me! *rolls eyes*) In stepping out of my comfort zone I found this is much quicker than powder and gel, for obvious reasons, and for more obvious reasons sometimes a girl needs something Quicker! Can I get an Amen?
However, personally I do prefer powder and gel to sculpt and fill my brows but this does take more time and precision. To elaborate on why that is my preference, I have natural brow hair, it is just really fine and thin, so because I have natural hair powder is best. The powder is able to pigment better with natural hair. I use powder to fill in and darken, and finish by using Gel to sculpt. Do not feel like you cannot achieve the perfect brow if you do not have your own brow hair. Gel and Pencil work the same Brow Magic for direct skin contact.
My Normal steps were used to apply with this pencil:
1. Prep and Prime the skin: I used my normal daily cleanser and my Nivea after Shave balm as primer.
2. Begin to map, fill, and sculpt Brow. (eyebrow mapping chart seen below)
3. Conceal and define brow with my normal Cream Concealer Pallet.
